Captivate is a desktop software, it is accessible on both Windows and Mac computers. Despite being one of the most potent e-learning authoring tools on this list, it has a more difficult learning curve and a unique set of difficulties.

Experienced authors can produce educational content by customising the very few themes offered. The themes are comparable to PowerPoint presentations, with colour schemes and slide masters dictating the appearance and feel.

Captivate is not designed for scalable, collaborative, and consistent work because it is a desktop writing tool.
